MEET YOUR PGA PROFESSIONAL
Matthew Palmer is the Lead PGA Teaching Professional at MacGregor Downs Country Club, proudly representing Andrew Kiger Golf. A graduate of Campbell University’s esteemed PGA Golf Management program, Matthew is a passionate and dedicated coach who works with golfers of all ages and skill levels.
During his time at Campbell, Matthew gained invaluable insight by shadowing several of the industry’s top instructors, an experience that profoundly shaped his philosophy on player development. After earning his degree, he continued his pursuit of coaching excellence by completing the PGA Specialized Professional certification in Teaching and Coaching.
Matthew’s instruction is centered around three core performance pillars: developing enough distance to compete, managing curvature, and controlling low point. He customizes each student’s setup and swing mechanics to support these outcomes, prioritizing function over aesthetics to help players create efficient, repeatable patterns that perform under pressure.
Known for his attention to detail, clear communication, and patient approach, Matthew builds long-term development plans that foster growth both on and off the course. With a goal of becoming a PGA Master Professional in Teaching and Coaching, he is committed to helping every student not only elevate their game but deepen their love for it.
